The Movement is Here

We see the future. During the battle over Line 3, we met many thousands of people who are working on these same goals of sustainability and respect. Many of them wish to join us in our cooperative development strategy. We are honored by and deeply grateful for your support of our cause and commitment to restoring balance to our land and water. Your generous contribution is pivotal in driving our mission forward.

At Akiing, we are dedicated to promoting, facilitating, and supporting a regional Indigenous economic model rooted in Anishinaabe teachings. We hold sacred the knowledge, protection, and restoration of local biodiversity and waters. Our commitment to the rebuilding of sustainable agriculture, harvesting practices, and the resurgence of the hemp economy forms what we believe is the foundation of a sustainable future for our planet.

Our primary objectives are to promote cooperative development and cultivate equitable land-based economies. With your donation, we will be able to acquire land, establish essential infrastructure to support regional work, and foster the growth of a vibrant community of cooperatives in farming and manufacturing.

Your commitment to this movement is a true inspiration. By supporting our cause, you not only empower us, but also motivate others to join our efforts. Together, we can usher in a fresh and sustainable way of life - the New Green Revolution.

Giiwedinong is happening … we need your support. You can directly donate to support Giiwedinong Museum by clicking below on the button.

Giwedinong is happening, and we need your help. This last year, Akiing, an Anishinaabe-led restoration and community development organization purchased the former Carnegie Library, turned Enbridge office to create a Museum of Culture and Treaty Rights in downtown Park Rapids Minnesota. That museum is the first Native independently controlled museum in the state, and we are planning to open it in July of this year- just in time for our Shell River Gathering , and summer in the north country. We are inviting you to join us as founding members.

The Giiwedinong Center is the first of its kind to share the stories and education of the Deep North, spanning from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska and beyond Giiwedinong is led by a team of Anishinaabe artists and staff who will represent the artwork displayed and produced at the Giiwedinong center. We recognize, uplift, and promote both emerging and established Anishinaabe artists in their diverse story telling mediums, and more.

Akiing’s work is in the protection of Mama Akiing or Mother Earth, the relatives, and biodiversity and our future generations.
